I recently got a new pair of ski boots and was so disappointed with them my first day on the slopes. I was so sad and thought I'd have to return them after my ski trip. I decided to give them another go on our second day. This time, instead of wearing my regular ski socks (non-compression, polyester- cotton-spandex blend), I slipped on my FTGU Merino wool compression socks. From the moment I slipped them on, I knew there was no turning back. These socks were warm, comfortable and they even changed how I felt about my boots. Ski boots are never super comfortable, but these compression socks made me forget about returning my boots. During the day, I usually loosen my boot straps and buckles to give my legs a break. While wearing my FTGU compression socks, I forgot to do it all day. These are the only socks I'll wear skiing now and have done so about 10 times. The soles have held up and show very little signs of wear despite heavy use and long days hiking and skiing in them. I also usually take my socks off when I get to the car at the end of the day, but I enjoy keeping these on all the way home. They keep me comfortable all day long, reduce odor, and I feel good about buying a product that gives back to causes I care about. I'll definitely be getting a second pair before ski season next year.
*For reference, I am a woman with wide feet and high arches. I wear a W9.5 (25.5 ski boot) and went with the large socks.
